Hewitt-Trussville Softball hit five home runs, including two grand slams, in Tuesday night's 18-8 Area win over Vestavia. The Huskies are now 33-2-1 overall and finished regular season Area play with a 5-1 record.
After the Rebels scored two runs in the top of the 1st, the Huskies responded with three runs in the bottom half.
Kenleigh Cahalan homered to left to tie the score.
Crystal Maze gave the Huskies the lead with a homer of her own. After a
Katelyn Murphy's home run in the 3rd, the Huskies loaded the bases for
Jenna Lord. On the third pitch of the at bat, Lord hit a grand slam to right field to give the Huskies a 11-4 lead.
In the 6th inning, Lord came up again with the bases full. She hit her second grand slam of the night to end the game. Lord finished 2-4 at the plate with nine RBI's.
Anyce Harvey was 2-2 at the plate with a home run. Harvey scored five times.
Hannah Dorsett was 2-3 at the plate and scored twice.
The Huskies will be back at home Thursday night when they host James Clemens.
