A STATEMENT IN AUBURN 

The Huskies opened the 2026 season with a 56–42 win over No. 3 Auburn on the road—and they did it with an offensive performance that was hard to ignore.

Jack Floyd was electric.

The sophomore quarterback accounted for 519 total yards, completing 22-of-26 passes for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding 159 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.

That's 7 total touchdowns for Floyd in his season debut.

He wasn't alone.

Jackson Martin: 5 receptions, 165 yards

DJ Hall: 6 receptions, 69 yards, 1 TD

Daniel Williams: 107 total yards

Hewitt-Trussville: 352 passing yards, 233 rushing yards

Defense: 4 Auburn turnovers

The Huskies jumped out to a 21–6 lead in the first quarter, took a 42–28 lead into halftime after rolling up 381 yards in the first half, and answered every time Auburn tried to fight its way back.

Coach Josh Floyd praised his team's response after a challenging night that included weather delays. "I just want to say how proud I am of these boys. They were doubted over the last several months, and I am proud of the way they handled the adversity and came out to win."

He added, "We are a young team, but a tough one."

Friday night, the Huskies proved exactly that.

1–0. 56 points. 519 yards from Jack Floyd. And a whole lot of heart.

The Huskies return home next Friday to take on Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.
