Huskies Roll Past Tuscaloosa County, 49-0 and Coach Floyd Earns His 200th Career Win

Hewitt-Trussville head football coach Josh Floyd reached another major milestone Friday night, earning the 200th victory of his career as the Huskies delivered a dominant 49-0 region win over Tuscaloosa County in Northport. Friday's victory, Hewitt-Trussville improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in region play.

The Huskies wasted little time taking control. After the defense forced a three-and-out on Tuscaloosa County's opening possession, Jack Floyd connected with Jackson Martin for a touchdown just two plays into Hewitt-Trussville's first drive, giving the Huskies a 7-0 lead with 9:40 remaining in the opening quarter.

The Floyd-to-Martin connection struck again on the very first play of the next drive. Jack Floyd launched a deep pass that Martin hauled in for a 49-yard touchdown, quickly pushing the lead to 14-0.

Less than two minutes later, Floyd went deep again, this time finding DJ Hall for a touchdown with 3:45 remaining in the first quarter. Daniel Williams then broke free for a 17-yard touchdown run, and the Huskies closed the opening quarter with a commanding 28-0 advantage.

Hewitt-Trussville continued to control the game in the second quarter. Floyd connected with Henry Farrell for a touchdown with 2:17 remaining before halftime, sending the Huskies into the locker room ahead 35-0. Hewitt-Trussville scored on all five of its first-half possessions, piling up 264 yards on only 16 offensive plays.

The Huskies added two more scores after halftime. Williams powered in from 18 yards out for his second touchdown of the night, making it 42-0 with 6:40 remaining in the third quarter. Nathan Moore capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with a short touchdown run following a 59-yard drive, producing the final 49-0 margin.

It was a complete performance on both sides of the football. The Huskies finished with 434 yards of total offense, including 306 passing yards and 128 rushing yards. Jack Floyd completed 18 of 19 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns. Williams rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries, while Hall finished with four receptions for 79 yards and a score. Martin made his two catches count, totaling 52 yards with both receptions going for touchdowns.

The defense was equally impressive, keeping Tuscaloosa County off the scoreboard from start to finish and helping the Huskies record their first shutout of the season.

For Coach Floyd, the night added another chapter to an already accomplished career. His 200th career victory came in convincing fashion as his team remained unbeaten in region play and continued building momentum. Congratulations to Coach Josh Floyd on career win No. 200!

The Huskies return home Friday to host Prattville in another important region matchup.
