Former Hewitt-Trussville High School Receiver Omari Kelly signs with the Chicago Bears

Fomer Hewitt-Trussville High School Receiver Omari Kelly signed a free agent contract with the Chicago Bears on Saturday night. This past season at Michigan State, Kelly was one of the leading receivers in the Big 10 conference and ends his collegiate career with 105 career receptions for 1,596 Yards. Kelly signed with Auburn University out of high school in 2022, while also playing at Middle Tennessee State and ending his career with the Michigan State Spartans.

During his high school career, Omari was a 2-time All-State player that had 151 career receptions for 2,347 receiving yards and 22 Touchdowns. He ended his career with 2,887 all-purpose yards, which is in the Top 5 in Hewitt-Trussville football history, while scoring 25 total Touchdowns. During his senior season, he led the entire 7A classification of Alabama with 84 receptions and 111 yards/game. He was also selected to participate in the 2021 Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Game.
