Soccer Teams Sweep at John Carroll
Boys Soccer
The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over John Carroll on Thursday, improving to 4-0 on the season.
The Huskies opened scoring when Jonathan Emmerich sent a cross to Alan Bryant, who finished with a first-time volley to the back post. The second goal came after a foul, as Brennan Greer served the ball into the box and Steven Delfin found the net in the ensuing scramble.
Hewitt-Trussville added a third goal on a through ball from Emmerich to Greer, who finished the opportunity. Greer later earned and converted a penalty kick to secure the 4-0 win.
The Huskies will return to action Wednesday as they compete in the Melrose Cup.
Girls Soccer
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer team also secured a dominant 6-0 win over John Carroll on Thursday.
Harper Wilbourn led the way with a hat trick and added an assist. Emma Gilmer, Maggie Durham, and Emma Claire Stuart each contributed goals in the victory.
The Huskies will compete in the Lakeshore Tournament next weekend.
