The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team won the 7A Area 6 opener on Friday night with a 57-30 win over Oak Mountain. The Huskies are now 13-8 overall on the season. The Huskies got off to a quick start jumping out to a 11-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game. HT scored 42 points in the first half. 

Ryleigh Martin led the Huskies in scoring with 20 points. Martin eclipsed 1,000 career points during the game. Lauryn Holley scored 17 points. Caycee Burton and Livie Bullington added six points each. HT will continue Area play on Tuesday when Vestavia visits Bryant Bank Arena.
