Kayla Alexander has been hired by Trussville City Schools to serve as a HTHS teacher and Varsity Head Girls Basketball coach.
Alexander joins the Huskies after serving nine years at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Since 2021, Alexander has been an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Blazers and has been involved in every aspect of the program. She coached six all-conference players and was part of 162 wins over the last nine seasons. From 2016-2021, Alexander was the Director of Basketball Operations where she handled the daily operations of the program. She oversaw camps, team travel, budgets, and student managers. The Blazers won their first regular season conference title during the 2017-2018 season.

She has been part of every facet of the UAB program over the last decade and she has great experience. She is a resident of Trussville and I am confident she will have a positive impact on the girls in our community. We are excited to support her and the program."

Alexander went to Eureka High School and was a four-year letter winner. She helped lead her team to a regional and sectional title in 2012. She played one season at Eureka College where she helped guide her team to a 16-9 record.
Alexander graduated from UAB with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management in 2016 and added a Master's of Business Administration in 2020, Alexander is a member of many organizations including WBCA, Mom's in Coaching, and Women Leaders in College Sports.
Kayla is married to Tim Alexander and they have twins Noah and Noelle, 2. Her father Paul Bryant is the Athletics Director at Alabama A&M University.
