The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer team earned a dramatic 5-4 win over Vestavia on Tuesday night to improve to 11-5-1 on the season. The Huskies scored two goals in the games' final minutes to secure the win.
HT got off to a quick start scoring within the first minute on a goal from
Emma Claire Stuart.
Jocelyn Davis added a goal in the 20th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Vestavia cut into the lead with a goal before halftime to make the score 2-1.
Ella Cane assisted
Jocelyn Davis early in the second half to extend the lead to 3-1.
Vestavia had a flurry of goals late in the second half to take a 4-3 lead.
Jocelyn Davis scored on an unassisted break away with just a few minutes left to tie the game 4-4. With just over a minute left,
Ella Cane found the back of the net for the winning goal.
The Huskies will visit Spain Park on Thursday before hosting Oak Mountain in the Area finale on Monday.
