Softball Wins Area Contest

Hewitt-Trussville Softball beat Oak Mountain 6-3 on Thursday night to improve to 23-11 overall on the season. The Huskies trailed 1-0 early in the game but quickly responded with one run in the bottom of the 1st and five runs in the 2nd.

Evie Andrews collected three hits on the night. Corey Goguts and Ava Hyde combined for four hits and four RBI's. Zaylen Tucker scored two runs. Darcy Hill was the winning pitcher as she tossed four innings. Kinley Poe pitched three innings and allowed just one run.

After the game, Head Coach Taylor Burt was honored for winning her 300th game at Hewitt-Trussville. Burt has led the Huskies to four state titles and five trips to the state championship game. 

The Huskies will be back on home on Tuesday as they host Hoover in another area contest.
