Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling defeated Thompson 36-30 on Saturday to finish 7A Region 3 play with a perfect 7-0 record. The Huskies are the top seed from the Region and will host a State Duals Quarterfinal next week. More information about the Quarterfinal dual will be released soon.

Clark Box and Braldey Hastings got pins early in dual on Saturday to put the Huskies up 12-3 over the Warriors. After three consecutive Thompson wins, Will Rivers pinned his opponent to earn six team points. Charlie Buttiker and Trip Cole then picked up wins to keep the Huskies within striking distance. Mason Holloway and Zack Chatman then earned wins to tie the team score 30-30 leading into the final match. Gavin Bittle pinned his opponent in the opening period to give the Huskies six points and a 36-30 win.
