Hewitt-Trussville Softball (36-6 overall) defeated Oak Mountain 11-0 in five innings on Tuesday night in the opening round of the 7A Area 6 Tournament. Hannah Dorsett homered to give the Huskies the lead in the bottom of the 1st. Sara Phillips homered in the 2nd to put HT up 5-0. Gracie Reaves went deep in the 3rd inning to extend the lead to 6-0. The final home run came from Olivia Faggard who crushed a grand slam in the 4th. Phillips pitched a complete game and did not allow a hit while striking out nine batters.

Spain Park defeated Chelsea 11-1 in the other opening round game. The top two teams from the double-elimination tournament will advance to the AHSAA East Regional.
