Hewitt-Trussville Varsity Softball earned a dramatic 9-7 walk-off win over Central in a ten-inning battle Tuesday night.
With the score tied in the bottom of the 10th, Corey Goguts delivered the game-winner, blasting a two-run home run to right field to secure the victory. Goguts led the Huskies at the plate with three hits, including the walk-off homer and two key singles earlier in the game.
The Huskies showed resilience throughout, collecting 15 total hits. Goguts, Presley Hull, Hannah Claire Miller, and Chloe Krackenberger each finished with three hits, while Krackenberger and Emily Renda drove in early runs to help set the tone.
Hewitt-Trussville battled back multiple times, including a late rally to tie the game and force extra innings before sealing the win in dramatic fashion.
In the circle, Rachel Reed earned the win in relief, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings.
The Huskies return to action Thursday at home against Gardendale.
