Hewitt-Trussville Softball defeated Pell City 5-2 on Tuesday night to close the 2023 regular season. The Huskies enter postseason play with a 35-6 overall record. HT finished 7A Area 6 play with a 6-0 record and will host the Area Tournament next week. The 2023 Senior class was honored before the game. The class of four consists of Taylor Davis, Hannah Dorsett, Rubie Simon, and Gracie Reeves. Over the last five season the class has won 185 games, captured two state titles, played in the state championship game three times, and secured two Area titles. 

Sara Phillips picked up the win in the circle on Tuesday night. Phillips pitched a complete game and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out 13 batters. Chaney Peters had three hits and drove in three runs. AhKeela Honeycutt and Lexi Kelly added two hits each.
