HT Softball improved to 6-2-1 on the season with a 5-1 win at Thompson Tuesday night. The Huskies opened the scoring in the first inning when
Olivia Faggard hit a sacrifice fly to score
Hannah Dorsett. In the 2nd inning,
Hannah Dorsett doubled on a hard line drive to center field to score
Gracie Reeves. The lead was extended later in the inning when
Riley Tyree singled to score
Hannah Dorsett and
Kenleigh Cahalan.
After Thompson cut the lead to 4-1, Cahalan homered over the scoreboard in left field. Cahalan finished the game 1-1 with three walks. She scored twice.
Riley Rudick added two hits.
Hannah Dorsett scored twice and had one RBI.
Sarah Hindman picked up the win as she threw 4 2/3 innings allowing one run.
Sara Phillips pitched the final 2 1/3 innings and did not allow a hit or a run.
The Huskies will host Central Phenix City on Thursday before hosting the Hewitt Invitational this weekend.
