Taylor Burt's HT Softball team exploded for 15 runs in the 5th inning Thursday night on the way to a 18-2 Area win at Oak Mountain. The Huskies are now 17-1-1 on the season and 2-0 in 7A Area 6 play. The Huskies got off to a quick start scoring two runs in the first inning.
Kenleigh Cahalan drove in a run with a sacrifice fly and
Rylee Tyree had a RBI double. The Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game.
Anyce Harvey singled in a run in the second inning to put the Huskies up 3-2. That remained the score until the wild 5th inning.
Kenleigh Cahalan walked and
Jenna Lord singled to start the 5th inning. Multiple Huskies drove in runs to continue the inning.
Anyce Harvey capped the inning with a three-run homer. Harvey finished the night 4-5 with five RBI's and three runs scored.
Hannah Dorsett,
Rylee Tyree, and Madi Mitchell all had two hits.
Sara Phillips picked up the win in the circle as she pitched a complete game and gave up just two hits.Â
