GAME 1 BELONGS TO THE HUSKIES 

Hewitt-Trussville defeated Auburn 4-1 Thursday afternoon at Choccolocco Park in Game 1 of the AHSAA 7A State Championship Series.

After Auburn tied the game in the fifth inning, the Huskies answered right back as Hudson Mitchell delivered a clutch two-run double to put Hewitt back in front.

Jace Riggan was dominant on the mound, throwing a complete game while allowing just one run and striking out eight. Wes Hardy led the Huskies with two hits on the day.

Hewitt-Trussville will look to clinch the state championship tomorrow at 4:00 PM at Jacksonville State University.
