The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Basketball team earned a huge road victory Friday night, defeating #1 Hoover 61–57 in a thrilling Area 6 matchup. With the win, the Huskies improve to 15–8 overall and 2–1 in 7A Area 6.
Hoover jumped out to an early lead, going up 18–13 after the first quarter and holding a 35–30 advantage at halftime. Tyler Wilson kept the Huskies within reach, scoring 11 points in the first half and finishing with 15 points on the night.
The Huskies came alive in the third quarter, rallying to take the lead and entering the final period tied 50–50. In the fourth, Tyler Phelps and Dalton Black knocked down clutch three-pointers to swing the momentum. Rashad Rolley sealed the win at the free-throw line with nine seconds remaining.
