The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Tennis team went 3-0 this weekend in Mobile to capture the McGill-Toolen Invitational championship. The Huskies are now 14-2 overall on the season.
In the opening round, HT defeated St. Paul's 5-4. That set up a semifinal meeting with Madison Central (MS). The match was tied 3-3 before weather postponed play until Saturday. The Huskies returned on Saturday morning to win the final three matches and collect a 6-3 win. Hewitt-Trussville had another tight match in the finals as they prevailed 5-4 over Trinity.
HT will be back in action on Monday when they host Oak Mountain in a Section match. The Huskies are currently 3-1 in Section play.
