Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball moved to 17-4 overall and 1-0 in 7A Area 6 with a 44-38 win at Chelsea Friday night. The Huskies jumped out early and led 10-6 at the end of the opening quarter. HT outscored the Hornets 19-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 29-14 halftime lead. Key plays and free throws down the stretch sealed the Husky victory.
Jordan Hunter led the Huskies in scoring with 14 points. Hunter was 4-4 from the foul line.
Ryleigh Martin made three shots from behind the arc and scored nine points.
Olivia Burton scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Huskies will travel to Atlanta, GA on Saturday to meet Mill Creek (GA) in the She Got Game Classic. HT returns home on Tuesday night to host Oak Mountain in another Area contest.
