The HT Girls Basketball team opened 2024 with a win inside Bryant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. The Huskies defeated Gadsden City 59-43. Hewitt-Trussville trailed by two at the end of the 1st quarter and had a narrow 24-23 lead at halftime. The Huskies scored 18 points in the 3rd quarter and 17 points in 4th quarter to secure the win.
Jordan Hunter scored 27 points to lead the scoring charge. Hunter was a perfect 4-4 from the foul line in the final quarter.
Lauryn Holley made five shots from behind the arc and finished with 16 points.Â
The Huskies are now 16-4 overall on the season as Area play is set to begin. HT will travel to Chelsea on Friday night for the first 7A Area 6 game of the year.
