Coach Mickens was born in Hattiesburg, MS and was raised in Hoover, AL. This is his 3rd year at Hewitt Trussville High School serving as the Freshman Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach. He also assists with the Varsity Assistant Linebackers. Mickens played Tight End throughout High Schol and College. He has an Associate's Degree in Communication from Jefferson State and graduated from UAB in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in History. He will be graduating with a Masters' in Education from West Alabama in December. Coach Mickens is the youngest of 7. He has a 3 year old son named Tekoa. Coach Mickens love coaching here at Hewitt Trussville and is looking forward to another great football season!
