Danny Ward enters his 5th season with Hewitt-Trussville High School, bringing over 21 years of Alabama high school football coaching experience to the Huskies' defensive front.
A native of Franklin, Tennessee, Coach Ward received his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama and his master's degree from David Lipscomb University . Before joining the Hewitt-Trussville staff, he gained extensive experience coaching at stops including Spain Park, Oak Mountain, Mortimer Jordan, Pelham, and Thompson High Schools. Notably, he served as Offensive Coordinator that led Mortimer Jordan to a Class 5A State Runner-Up finish in 2015.
Off the field, Coach Ward is deeply invested in student development as an educator, serving as a teacher at the SPARK Alternative Learning Center for Trussville City Schools. He is dedicated to mentoring student-athletes, instilling the core values of teamwork, accountability, and relentless effort.
Coach Ward and his wife, Jessica, have been married for over 15 years and are the proud parents of three children.
