Brad Boyette joined the Hewitt-Trussville High School football staff in 2020 as the offensive line coach, bringing more than three decades of high school and collegiate coaching experience to the program. His career has been highlighted by championship success, player development, and a commitment to developing young men both on and off the field.
Boyette began his coaching career at Holly Springs High School, where he coached the offensive line from 1994–1995. He then coached the offensive line at Olive Branch High School from 1996–1999 before serving as offensive coordinator at Horn Lake High School from 2000–2002.
In 2003, Boyette joined the staff at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He coached the offensive line from 2003–2005 before becoming the program’s defensive coordinator, a position he held from 2005–2012.
Boyette returned to Horn Lake High School as head coach in 2013 and led the Eagles through 2019. His tenure reached its pinnacle in 2018 when he guided Horn Lake to the
Mississippi 6A State Championship. Following the championship season, Boyette was named
2018 Mississippi Coach of the Year. He was also selected to coach in both the
2018 Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Football Game and the
2018 Under Armour All-America Game.
Throughout his coaching career, Boyette has coached
13 players who went on to play in the National Football League. His experience as an offensive line coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and head coach has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the game and a proven track record of developing players.
At Hewitt-Trussville, Boyette continues to coach the offensive line while contributing to the development of the football program and its players. His coaching philosophy centers on discipline, accountability, toughness, teamwork, and doing things the right way. He is passionate about using football to help young men develop the character and habits necessary for success beyond the playing field.
Boyette and his wife, Lee, are both involved in athletics at Hewitt-Trussville High School. Lee serves as an assistant coach with the Hewitt-Trussville softball program. The couple has three children: Lara, Asa, and Gabi.
