Baseball Sweeps Oak Mountain to Clinch Playoff Spot

Hewitt-Trussville Baseball defeated Oak Mountain 8-2 on Thursday night to improve to 27-2 overall on the season. The win improved the Huskies' record to 3-1 in 7A Area 6 play and clinched a playoff spot. The Huskies will meet Hoover next week to determine the champion and runner-up from the area.

The Huskies trailed 1-0 on Thursday night, but rallied for two runs in the 3rd and five runs in the 4th. Cooper Huffman had two hits and scored a run. Cam Simpson had a hit and a RBI. Steele Hall, Koal Duckett, and Colby Durden all added hits. Hudson Mitchell was the winning pitcher as he tossed six innings and allowed just three hits and two runs.

The Huskies will host Hoover at 6pm Monday in the first game of the final regular season series.
