The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team defeated Gadsden City 69-46 on Tuesday night in the first game of the season. The Huskies had three players score in double figures to lead a balanced attack.
Ashlyn Howard scored 15 points on the night. Howard was 5-5 from the field and 5-6 from the free throw line. She also added eight rebounds.
Jordan Hunter scored 14 points and had eight assists.
Olivia Burton also scored in double figures as she added 10 points.
The Huskies and Titans were tied 9-9 after the opening quarter. HT then took control of the game outscoring Gadsden City 17-4 in the 2nd quarter.Â
Hewitt-Trussville will play at home for the first time on Thursday night against Pelham. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30pm.
