Hewitt-Trussville Baseball defeated Gadsden City 6-2 on Friday night to move to 2-0 in 7A Area 6 play. The Huskies are now 22-1-1 overall on the season.
Baker Green pitched a complete game and struck out 15 batters.
Matt Miller had two hits and drove in a run.
Baker Green had a hit and drove in two runs.
Riley Quick and Brooks McRae both had a hit and drove in a run.
HT started the scoring in the 4th inning. After
Ethan Duhon and
Kurt Kizer reached on errors,
Matt Miller recorded a hit to drive in Duhon.
Baker Green followed with a hit to extend the lead to 3-0. The Titans scored a pair of runs in the 5th inning to cut the score to 3-2. The Huskies extended the lead in the 6th inning as they added three more runs.
Riley Quick and Brooks McRae each had two out doubles to score runs.
The Huskies will take on Vestavia this week in a pair of Area games. HT will host the Rebels on Tuesday night at 6pm and will travel to Vestavia on Thursday.
