Hewitt-Trussville Boys Basketball defeated Albertville 51-47 on Thursday night in the opening game of the 2021-2022 season.
Ray Rolley led the way for the Huskies as he scored a team-high 16 points.
Emeka Anwah also scored in double figures as he added 12 points.
Karnell Smith added nine points and
David Moore scored six points.
The teams played a back and forth opening quarter and the game was tied 11-11 at the end of the first. The Huskies took the upper hand in the second quarter as they took a 25-19 lead into the locker room. The Huskies held on to the lead in the 3rd quarter as they led 37-32 heading into the final eight minutes of play. Albertville took the lead with three minutes to play, but the Huskies closed in a 7-2 run to claim the victory.Â
The Huskies will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Pelham.Â
