Boys Basketball Goes Overtime to Top Dothan

Fans were treated to free basketball and a Husky win inside Bryant Bank Arena Saturday night. The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Basketball team topped Dothan 70-66 in overtime.

Tyler Blake hit 6-8 shots from behind the arc to lead the Huskies with 18 points. Blake made three long balls in the 2nd quarter. Ray Rolley made seven foul shots in the 4th and overtime periods and ended the night with 16 points. Karnell Smith was also in double figures as he added 10 points.

Late in the overtime period, the Huskies led by three points, but Dothan had the ball. The Wolves attempted a three point shot, but it was off the mark. Ray Rolley sank a free throw to seal the win.

HT used a strong first period to jump out to a 20-13 lead. The Husky advantage was also seven points as the teams entered the locker rooms. Dothan quickly erased the HT lead and went ahead late in the 3rd quarter.

The Huskies (4-2 overall) will be in action again on November 30 when they travel to Oak Mountain.
