On Tuesday night the Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team defeated Vestavia 64-25 at Bryant Bank Arena. With the win, the Huskies improved to 9-1 on the season. Coach Tonya Hunter's team got off to a quick start and led 16-5 after the opening quarter. The team continued to play well in the second quarter as they racked up 22 points. Hewitt led 38-6 at halftime.

London Coleman led the Huskies in scoring with 16 points. She scored 10 of her points in the first half. Three other players scored in double figures against the Rebels. Morgan Kirk scored 13 points, Leah Harrison scored 11 points, and Erica Jones added 10 points.

Coach Hunter said, "We had eight days off before the Oak Mountain game. We were able to knock some rust off that night. I felt like we played a solid game tonight. We played well defensively so that allowed us to play a solid game tonight."

The Huskies will be back at home Friday as Gadsden City visits for the first area game of the season. Tip-off is set for 6pm.
