COMEBACK COMES UP JUST SHORT
The Boys Basketball team put together a furious rally on Tuesday night at Bryant Bank
Arena but fell to Vestavia 69-67. The Rebels got off to a quick start and led 11-0 early.
They led 15-7 at the end of the first quarter. Vestavia was able to extend its lead in the
second quarter and led 35-20 at halftime. The lead would increase to 22 points in the third
quarter before the Huskies began their comeback.
Hewitt's offense caught fire in the final quarter. Two three-pointers brought the Huskies to
within eight points. Later in the 4th quarter, Bryant Howell and Cameron Glover made
back-to-back three-pointers to bring the Huskies to within two points. Malachi Moore
made another shot from beyond the arc with a minute left and the Rebels led 66-63.
Vestavia was able to make some free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
Bryant Howell led the Huskies with 17 points. Cameron Glover added 14 points and
Malachi Moore scored 13 points for Hewitt.
Coach Marcus Thomas' team will play again at home Friday night vs Gadsden City. This
will be the first area game of the season. The game will begin at 7:30pm.
