The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team lost to Spain Park 62-55 on Tuesday night in the championship game of the Bryant Bank Thanksgiving Tournament. The teams went back and forth in the first half with both teams hitting big shots. The Huskies went on a run in the second quarter and took a four point lead into the locker room. Spain Park responded to take the lead in the 3rd quarter. Hewitt battled in the final quarter, but the Jaguars put the game away with some late free throws. London Coleman led the Huskies in scoring with 24 points.

On Saturday, the Huskies started the tournament by beating Briarwood 70-40. Hewitt controlled the game throughout as Erica Jones led the way with 22 points.

On Monday, the Huskies defeated Lee-Montgomery in the semifinals 79-67. Coach Hunter's team trailed by one at halftime but came back in the third quarter to take control of the game. Leah Harrison hit four three-pointers on her way to a team high 23 points. Amiya Payne added 17 points for the winning team.

The Huskies now have a 7-1 record on the year. They will next be in action on December 1 as they travel to Oak Mountain.
