The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team traveled down the road Tuesday night and defeated Clay-Chalkville 73-61. With the win the Huskies improved to 4-0 on the season.

Clay-Chalkville got off to a quick start and led 14-10 after the opening quarter. The Huskies battled back behind Christina Till to take a 31-29 lead into halftime. London Coleman hit a three-pointer at the 3rd quarter buzzer to tie the game at 45. The Huskies played well in the final quarter outscoring the Cougars 28-16 to secure the win.

Freshman Amiya Payne led the Huskies as she had a Triple-Double. London Coleman added 19 points for Coach Tonya Hunter's team. Morgan Kirk was a perfect 9-9 from the foul line, and Christina Till made three shots from behind the arc.

The Huskies will play at home for the first time on Thursday as Center Point will pay a visit. The team will also host the 2017 Bryant Bank Tournament. Play begins on Saturday at Hewitt-Trussville High School.
