Hewitt-Trussville Boys Basketball team had an impressive performance in its season opener as they defeated Spain Park 73-52. The game was a part of the Ramsey Showcase event at Ramsey High School on Saturday.

Patrick Bishop led the Huskies with 16 points. He made three shots from behind the arc and was a perfect 3 of 3 from the foul line. Cameron Glover scored eight points in the final quarter and had 15 points for the game. Damon Harper and Jaxon Hunter added 11 points each for the victorious Huskies.

Head Coach Marcus Thomas was pleased with the resiliency the team showed. "I am proud of the effort the team gave. The seniors showed leadership when the game became close."

The Huskies will be in action Tuesday as they travel to Clay-Chalkville. The home opener is scheduled for Thursday.
