The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Bowling team defeated Shades Valley on Thursday in the first match of the season. The Boys team won by a score of 1,348 to 951. Senior Hunter Bailey led the team with a game high score of 200. Senior Billy Brodie bowled a 192 for the Huskies.

Each team selects five bowlers to bowl one game each. Next, teams bowl three Baker games. A Baker game is when a team takes five bowlers and each bowler takes turns bowling a ten frame game. After the five individual games and the three baker games, the score from each game is added together and the team with the highest pin total wins the match.

The Girls Bowling team lost a close match to Shades Valley 940 to 874. The Huskies were led by Sophomore Allison Kerins with a game high score of 129.

The Huskies will be back in action on Monday October 30 when they host Southside Gadsden. The match will be held at Sparetime in Trussville.
