GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY HAS TOP 10 FINISH AT JESSE OWENS
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Cross Country team ran in one of the most competitive races in the country on Saturday October 7. The team finished 9th out of 35 teams. Pearl High School won the event with 64 points. Fort Payne finished second overall and was the top team from Alabama.

Over 260 runners competed in the race Saturday in Moulton. The Huskies had three athletes place in the top 35 overall. Sydney Hall finished 19th, Amelia Brady finished 24th, and Helena Steen finished 35th. Select the link below for full race results.

The Jesse Owens race was the first of three straight weeks of competition for Coach Dobbs' team. On October 14 the team will travel to Decatur before hosting the Husky Invitational on October 21.


Boys Cross Country Has Top 20 Finisher

The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Cross Country team traveled to Moulton on Saturday October 7 to compete in the Jesse Owens race. The Huskies finished 22nd out of 41 teams in one of the strongest fields of the year. Pope High School won the event with 155 points. Enterprise High School was the top Alabama team as they placed third overall.

More than 300 athletes ran in the race Saturday. Thomas Wolfe was the top finisher for the Huskies as he earned a top 20 finish by coming in 19th place. Other top finishers for the team included Josh Jenkins who came in 52nd and Aaron Himes who came in 95th. Select the link below for full race results.

The team will be in action again on October 14 as they travel to Decatur for the Dew It On The Trails race. Coach Dobbs' team will host the Husky Invitational on October 21.
