HT SWIMMING HAS SUCCESSFUL
OPENING EVENT
The Hewitt-Trussville Swimming team opened the 2017 season with an impressive performance at the Westminister Sprint Invitational. The event was held October 3 at Lifetime Fitness. Head Coach Molly Jones was pleased with the performance. "The first meet of the season was a success! Great times were had by all and adding some first place finishes really has me excited for the rest of the season."

The Boys team won the event with 125 points. Here are the full team results

*The Huskies won the 200 Meter Medley Relay with the team of Noah Weissgerber, Brandt Gooden, Drake Amick, and Caleb Knox. That win was worth 18 team points.
*In the 100 Meter Freestyle Brandt Gooden came in second and Noah Weissgerber came in fifth.
*In the 100 Meter IM Drake Amick finished first and Will Bradley finished fifth.
*In the 50 Meter Freestyle Caleb Knox finished first and Noah Weissgerber finished fifth.
*In the 50 meter Butterfly Drake Amick finished first, Brandt Gooden finished second, and Will Bradley finished fifth.
*In the 200 Meter freestyle Caleb Knox came in second.
*In the 50 Meter Backstroke three Huskies placed in the top 5 (Drake Amick, Caleb Knox, Noah Weissgerber)
*In the 50 Meter Breaststroke Brandt Gooden came in first, Will Bradley came in third, and JV Musso came in sixth.

The Girls team also had a great event finishing third out of 10 teams. Here are the full results:

*In the 50 Meter Butterfly Alex Mueller finished fourth
*In the 200 Meter Freestyle Niala Cross finished fourth
*In the 50 Meter Backstroke Alex Mueller finished third and Elly Fraser finished fifth
