Hewitt-Trussville Football will make four trips to the Huntsville area this season. Coach Floyd hopes all the trips go as well as the first one. The Huskies got off to a quick start and beat Grissom 49-7. With the win the Huskies improved to 3-0 on the season and 2-0 in 7A Region 4 play. Grissom saw their record drop to 2-2. The Tigers are now 1-1 in 7A Area 4.

Junior quarterback Paul Tyson had another effective night leading the offense. Tyson completed 16 of 18 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns. His longest TD pass of the night was a 57-yard strike to Elliott McElwain.

The Huskies defense also had a dominating performance. Senior linebacker Simon Miskelly even got in on the scoring. Miskelly intercepted a Tigers' pass and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown.

Myles Mason had 70 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns. Running back Antonio Reed added a long 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Coach Floyd was pleased with the effort. "I felt like it was a good week of practice. We had a lot of holding calls. We have to do a better job there. But I was proud of the kids. The defense played great."

The Huskies continue Region 4 play next week as Buckhorn visits Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. The game starts at 7pm on Friday September 22. Fans can follow all football news on
